MCP server

Install approved skills into any project

The MCP server exposes the approved catalogue to any agent that speaks the Model Context Protocol. Create an API key, point your client at the endpoint, and install a skill in one tool call.

The endpoint

POST https://abackskills.com/mcp speaks the Streamable HTTP transport. The server is stateless: there is no session id to manage and no handshake beyond the standard MCP initialize call.

Get an API key

  1. 1. Sign in and open /dashboard/mcp.
  2. 2. Create a key. The secret is shown once and is never stored, so copy it immediately.
  3. 3. Send it as Authorization: Bearer <key>. Clients that cannot set headers may send it as an api_key query parameter instead.

Install a skill

A tool call returns the exact file to write rather than writing to your machine. The client writes the file, and the installation is recorded so the same project reports it on every machine.

{
  "jsonrpc": "2.0",

      "slug": "code-review",
      "project": "my-app",
      "target_dir": ".agents/skills"
    }
  }
}

The default target directory is .agents/skills, which is the cross-agent convention. Point it at .claude/skills or any other directory if your tooling expects a different layout.

Allowance

Every account gets a real API key and a monthly allowance on the free plan. A skill resolution is one call that returns skill content; a search costs a tenth of a resolution. The counter resets on the first day of each month and the current value is always available through get_usage.

Publishing a skill is free on every plan and is never counted against the allowance.
